Government
Each country is run by an elected President and a cabinet of ministers. The country window groups everything a government manages: government, fortifications, intelligence, interior, research, delegations, wallet and reconquest.
Seats
- President: can do everything a minister can.
- Minister of Research: sets the national research focus (see Research).
- Minister of Interior: manages district unrest and pacification (see Unrest).
- Minister of Industry: production policies, the national production bonus and the production focus (see Resources).
- Ministry of Intelligence: posts missions and keeps the intelligence archive; spies report to it.
A vacant seat can be taken over. Leaving both the President and a minister seat vacant has consequences: with no Minister of Research and no President, research bonuses stop applying and every focus decays.
Elections
- An election opens with a candidacy phase (citizens stand or withdraw), followed by a voting phase; every citizen has one vote.
- The election closes at its end date and the winner is elected; when a seat is vacant, a takeover is possible.
Delegations
The government can delegate rights to individual citizens, for example the right to Attack district. Active delegations show who granted them.
National wallet
- The treasury of the country, fed by the production tax (the share of building production paid to the country). It can be visible to all or to the government only.
- It pays for research, fortifications and their ammunition, strategic ordnance, production policies and the rewards escrowed for missions.
- If the capital is occupied, industry policies are suspended and a percentage of the production tax leaks to the occupier until the capital is retaken.
Country fortifications
The government builds and upgrades country fortifications district by district, paying the full cost from the country wallet.
Reconquest
When a nation has been wiped off the map, its citizens can rally the resistance on one of the country's original districts to begin the reconquest: Resistance Infantry is spawned there. The homeland counts as reclaimed once it is recovered; crushed uprisings and homeland occupation are ranking metrics.
